PLEASE set up your child's book using the DOT DOT X strategy. To support your child's fine motor development and spatial awareness when writing, please also follow the DOT DOT X pattern. You can see that lower case letters use one space (unless they are tall), and capital letters are always two spaces tall. Please use an X to show students which lines to write on. You can also highlight the whole X line if you find that your child has difficulty staying on the correct line. In grade 1, it is crucial that students develop fine motor skills and an awareness of lines on a page. This is a major focus in TLC.
