We have been working on learning about 2D and 3D shapes in Math this week, as well as, Fact Families.

We are finishing up our building unit in Science. We have been reading Fairy Tales and creating towers, bridges, walls, houses, tables, chairs, etc. with many different building materials. Students coloured puppets for The Three Billy Goats Gruff, and are bringing them home this week to retell you the story we used to inspire our bridge building.

We will be starting the unit about the past and present in Social Studies in the upcoming week. There is a special activity (family interview) in the homework document for you to do during the upcoming week. Please complete it on a separate paper and turn it in with your homework on Friday.

NOTE: you must have a volunteer clearance. If you don't have your police clearance, please contact the office and get the process started as it can take several weeks to complete.

March 28th-April 1st

We created some beautiful daffodil art to signify the beginning of Spring.

In Math, we practiced the Tens Partner strategy for subtraction. Students are starting to show improvement in accuracy and speed with subtraction facts to ten.

In Language Arts, we have been starting to write simple stories. Students were given a picture prompt and then asked to share their ideas with others of what may be happening in the picture.

We started Options on Friday. Students get to choose between choir, art, technology, stem or outdoor games. Not everyone got their first choice as we would have too many students in some areas. Students love the fact that they get to see students from other classes.
