Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful, supportive moms of students in Room 11. I hope that you enjoyed your special gift from your child. I had so much fun making it with them.

I have been away this week and will be again next week. I have heard from Ms. McDonald that you guys had a great week and that you worked super hard on all the tasks that I left. I am super proud of you all! I have missed you guys so much and can’t wait to see you again soon. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend on-line learning this week. You will still get to send me your work on Friday. I look forward to seeing all your awesome projects!

I will post the online learning for the week of May 10th-14th here and in addition to the homework page. The weekly homework will be posted as usual on the homework page. Adults- please read these important notes to keep learning on track for the next two weeks:

1) Bean seeds should be watered daily, or whenever the soil on top looks dry. They should start to sprout within the next week and visible above the soil shortly after that. We will be discussing them online, and completing a short journal about them every couple days. Thank you for accepting these into your home for their science learning.

2) Students have learned my expectations for Google Meets, but for your reference:
         a. your child should be at a desk, table, or other hard surface, prepared with a sharpened pencil and their notebooks
         b. they should be dressed for the day (not in pyjamas) unless otherwise specified...
         c. no digital backgrounds- they are distracting for them and others
         d. students should remain muted unless invited to share (otherwise background noise may interfere with audio quality)
         e. the first 5 minutes of every Google Meet is a socializing period, for the class to catch up with one another and talk freely

3) Homework can be completed at any point during the week, but at-home assignments should only be completed after they have been assigned during a Google Meet

4) All work can be sent via e-mail at the end of the week. Please send all the work in one e-mail to simplify tracking of work on my end.

5) This can be a stressful time for you, your child(ren), and others around you. Please take the time to just play together and enjoy the extra time together.
