We started subtraction this week. We practiced the
strategies of subtracting zero, when you subtract the same number from itself,
and counting back.
We created our own community maps. Students were very
creative and designed what landmarks and services that they wanted in their communities.
The grade one classes have been busy making Valentine’s
Day cards for all staff members so that they feel special and appreciated.
Family time is so important. Please take some time to spend with your family in a fun activity this week.
Monday,
14th: Casual Day: You may wear red, purple, or pink for Valentine’s Day. You
may bring valentines for all classmates. Names can be found in last week’s blog
post.
Wednesday, 16th: Fun Lunch and return your library book for exchange.
Thursday, 17th and Friday, 18th: No school due to Teacher’s Convention
Monday, 21st: No school: Family Day
Tuesday, 22nd: Return to school/Informal Uniform
