October 25th-29th

Wow, it’s hard to believe that Halloween is here and that Monday we will begin the month of November.

It has been an exciting week in room 11. We painted pumpkins by mixing two primary colours together to create shades of orange. We then learned about different shapes and chose our favourites to create jack-o-lanterns. Finally, we imagined that we were jack-o-lanterns and used our five senses to write about what we see, hear, feel and smell. These have been posted outside our classroom on the bulletin board that you can see above. I was so proud of the students and how well they could follow instructions.

In Math, we continued with some closed “Halloween” word problems and worked with greater and lesser numbers.

In Social Studies we are learning about the groups that we belong to. We have started creating our family portraits and will finish them next week.

I hope that you have fun Trick-or-Treating if you decide to go on Sunday. Stay safe and try to not eat too much candy or stay up too late. I am looking forward to hearing all about it on Monday. Have a great weekend and Happy Halloween!
